Nanny McPhee Returns!  The magic’s back, warts and all.

The family comedy will open in theaters around the country on Friday, August 20, but the Northern Tier Library is giving you a chance to see it first!  YES, before the actual opening!

Thanks to the generosity of Universal Pictures, the library will be showing Nanny McPhee Returns at RC Pittsburgh North 11 (formerly Showcase Cinemas North) on Sunday, August 15th at 1:00 PM

In Nanny McPhee Returns, Oscar®-winning actress and screenwriter Emma Thompson returns to the role of the magical nanny who appears when she’s needed the most and wanted the least in the next chapter of the hilarious and heartwarming fable that has enchanted children around the world.

In the latest installment, Nanny McPhee appears at the door of a harried young mother, Mrs. Isabel Green (Maggie Gyllenhaal), who is trying to run the family farm while her husband is away at war.  But once she’s arrived, Nanny McPhee discovers that Mrs. Green’s children are fighting a war of their own against two spoiled city cousins who have moved in and refuse to leave.

Relying on everything from a flying motorcycle and statue that comes to life to a tree-climbing piglet and a baby elephant who turns up in the oddest places, Nanny McPhee uses her magic to teach her mischievous charges five new lessons.

An event so big deserves a party – so we’re going to have one!  Join us at the theater beginning at 11:45 AM for Nanny McPhee noses, “Nanny Says” (our version of “Simon Says”), Pin the Wart on the Nanny, and more!

Children will also receive a free goody bag to take home.

Ticket prices are as follows:

1. Basic Ticket - $8 (Plus a $0.50 Processing Fee)

2. VIP Ticket - $15 and up (includes a minimum $7 donation (we’ll take more!) for reserved seating)
