SUMMER READING CLUB BEGINS MONDAY, JUNE 7! Make a Splash! this summer at the library! Reading clubs will be offered for kids and teens from birth through high school – plus, we even have a club for adults! Everyone must have his or her own card to register.

Elementary Reading Club: Kids reading on their own
Teen Reading Club: Teens who have completed 6th grade through high school completion
Adult Reading Club: Adults of all ages

Kids, join us for a fun time each Monday, 10:30-11:30 AM. We’ll learn about whales and blast ended skrewts, sing songs and watch shows - and lots more. These programs are designed for children from kindergarten through 5th grade.
June 7: Crafty Critters Water Safari! Jessica Stombaugh will teach us how to create crafty critters.
June 14: You Grow! Join Home Depot for a special outdoor project.
June 21: Tae Kwon Do – Dwayne Allen, owner of Red Tiger Tae Kwon Do, will give a demonstrative talk.
June 28: Swimming Through Some Melodies – Enjoy Eli Bard and his acoustic guitar!
July 5: Independence Day Holiday – Library Closed

CHICK FLICKS TRAVEL TO ROME!
Ladies, get ready for an Italian adventure of the inexpensive kind! On Tuesday, June 15th at 7:00 PM, we’ll screen the brand-new DVD release, When in Rome. In this film, a buttoned-up business woman pulls five magic coins from the famous fountain d’amore, and she suddenly has five men vying for her attentions. What is a girl to do?
On Tuesday, June 29th at 7:00 PM, take a nostalgic trip back to 1950’s Rome with the sweet romance, Roman Holiday. Audrey Hepburn had her first starring role as a European princess who enjoys a whirlwind day of freedom with a reporter, played by Gregory Peck. Hepburn won an Oscar for her performance.

The Friends of the Northern Tier Library will meet on Tuesday, June 1st at 7:30 PM. This month’s meeting will be held in the Kemerer Reading Room on the lower level. New and potential members are always welcome.
Stock up for your summer reading – and help the library restock our shelves! Browse a selection of fiction and non-fiction for children of all ages, plus a special section for adults. The book sale will be held on the library’s upper level meeting room.

Do you enjoy stimulating conversation? Interesting people gather at the Northern Tier Library on the second Thursday of each month to discuss a variety of topics and ideas. The group will meet on Thursday, June 10th from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. Join us for the lively exchange of ideas and the art of good conversation. Registration is not required – join us when you can.

FICTION CRITIQUE GROUP
If you’re a writer ready for publication and just need some good input from your peers to polish your fiction, we’re the group for you. The Northern Tier Fiction Critique Group is looking for a few good writers to join us at our twice-monthly meetings. We critique novels and short stories with an eye toward helping local writers achieve publication. The group will meet at the library on Monday, June 14th at 6:30 PM.
