LIBRARY LINK - OCTOBER 2009
AUTHORS NIGHT
The Friends of the Northern Tier Library are pleased to present Authors Night on Wednesday, October 21st at
7:00 PM. Our featured writers will be:
Katherine Miller Haines, author of the Rosie Winter series. Titles are: The War Against Miss Winter, The
Winter of Her Discontent, and Winter in June. This mystery series, set in New York City during the second World War,
features aspiring actress Rosie Winter.
Anahita Firouz, author of In the Walled Gardens. This novel, set in pre-revolution Iran, is a passionate haunting love story set in a world on the brink of destruction. In The Walled Gardens gives us a portrait of a vanished era.
Join us to learn about the writing process, the publishing process, and more. Books will also be available for
purchase and autographing. Registration is requested.
"MEET ME AT THE PIAZZA"
On Saturday, November 14th beginning at 6:30 PM, the library “piazza” will be filled with
boutique items, great treasures, sponsored trees and Chinese auction baskets. Tickets for the event
are $25, which includes gourmet pizza and a selection of desserts. Beverages will also be available.
This is the library's main fundraising event for the year. In the past, monies raised have been used for special
projects. This year, however, the library is facing severe funding cuts, and these funds may be needed to maintain the
level of library service that our patrons have come to expect. So take this opportunity to get a jump on your Christmas
shopping -and help support your library!

12:00 PM, for an exploration of these events as revealed though the intuitive work of psychic
Edgar Cayce. Registration is required.
