FALL STORY TIMES
Registration for our Family Story Times will begin on Monday, September 21st for residents of Richland and Pine townships. Registration for all other patrons will begin on Monday, September 28th.

ALTERNATIVE ENERGY 101
Alternative energy is the way of the future! Learn about the benefits of solar and wind alternative energy systems. Plus, you'll learn ways to make your existing home more energy efficient.
This program will be presented by Vox Energy Solutions on Wednesday, September 30th at 7:00 PM. Registration is required.
HOLIDAY STREET BAZAAR
The library’s holiday fundraiser is taking a new turn this year! On Saturday, November 14th, join us for a Holiday Street Bazaar - complete with various booths of items you can buy that night, gifts baskets, and trees to bid on. After shopping, replenish your energy with a trip to our own "Pizza on the Plaza." See you there!
COOKING CLASSES RETURN
Penny Lawrence has recovered from her shoulder surgery and is very happy to be back at the library. Just wait until you see these terrific menus!
As always, Penny has carefully selected "do-ahead" dishes. Portions of each menu can be prepared ahead of time, and in some cases, portions can be prepared and frozen. By working within these three menus, you will find more than enough dishes to get you through the holidays and the winter season. As an added bonus, if you register for all three classes we'll offer a discounted rate of $105!

GETTING READY FOR YOUR NEWBORN
As you get ready to welcome your new bundle of joy, get prepared with some advice from an expert. Dr. Kelly Heidenreich, pediatrician and mother, will present "Getting Ready for Your Newborn" on Tuesday, September 22nd at 7:00 PM. Registration is required.

Is navigating your computer's desktop like traveling to a foreign country? Are you uncomfortable using drop down menus, radial buttons, and scroll bars? For information and practice with these and other elements of an MS Windows environment, join us.
Learn the World Wide Web - Monday, September 28th, 1:00-3:00 PM
Learn how to use a browser to navigate the WWW and how to search using a subject directory, search engines, and addresses.
There is no charge for these classes, but registration is required.
CONVERSATION SALON
Do you enjoy stimulating conversation? Interesting people gather at the Northern Tier Library on the second Thursday of each month to discuss a variety of topics and ideas. The group will meet on Thursday, September 10th, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. Seniors and their companions are invited to join us for the lively exchange of ideas and the art of good conversation. Registration is not required - join us when you can!
TINY FINGERS TO TINY VOICES
This sign language course is designed for parents and their child, from birth to kindergarten age, who would like to use another avenue to improve their communication skills. Children must be accompanied by a parent, and is intended for all children, regardless of their disability. Sessions will be held on October 8th, October 22nd, October 29th, November 5th and November 12th, 10:30-11:30 AM. This free course is sponsored by The Peal Center. BOOK DISCUSSION GROUP
The Book Discussion Group meets on the last Thursday of each month to discuss various works of fiction and non-fiction. Join us on Thursday, September 24th at 10:00 AM for a discussion of Pope Joan by Donna Cross. Discussions are informal and open to the public. Please join us, and bring a friend!
CLASSIC MOVIE NIGHT
Take a trip back to Hollywood's golden years as we screen some of the best classic films. On Thursday, September 17th at 7:00 PM, we'll enjoy It Happened One Night (1934). Please join us - and bring your suggestions for future titles!
FICTION CRITIQUE GROUP
If you're a writer ready for publication and just need some good input from your peers to polish your fiction, we're the group for you. The Northern Tier Fiction Critique Group is looking for a few good writers to join us at our twice-monthly meetings. We critique novels and short stories with an eye toward helping local writers achieve publication. The group will meet at the library on Monday, September 14th at 6:30 PM. PILATES
Pilates is a low stress workout that lengthens and strengthens muscles. A six week series of classes will be held on Tuesdays, September 15-October 20, from 6:30 to 7:15 PM. A fee of $30 will be charged for the series, or you can pay as you go (space permitting) for $7 per session. The fee must be paid at the time of registration.
KNIT LIT
Knitters, crocheters (and those who would like to be either one!) are welcome to join our group on Thursday, September 24th at 7:00 PM. If you are working on a project, bring it along with you. If you would like to learn, just bring some yarn and we'll teach you how! We'll also talk about some of the books we’ve enjoyed lately - please join us.
